Game analyst Michael Pachter has announced NPD results for August. August might be surprise for most people. Where we saw a rise in Nintendo software, there the story of hardware declined. Nintendo made around $100 million on software. However due to Wii shortage the sales of Nintendo Wii was no that good.

Pachter says, "Because the U.S. has received only around 1/3 of total Wii production to-date, instead of a more normal 40 percent, there has been a severe shortage of Wii supply here that has yet to let up." PS2 software sales declined and the decline will keep increasing as more new consoles come in market.
